This year as we honor 35 years of ministry, it seemed appropriate to recognize a special volunteer who has been a part of Pregnancy Resources in every season of service and growth so far. With that in mind, it was an easy decision to select Kay Retzl as the 2025 Volunteer of Year recipient.
Kay has served along-side all 3 of Pregnancy Resources’ Executive Directors. Back in 1999 – she responded to an ad in the paper that CJ Payne had placed looking for a nurse. Then, Kay came back to the ministry to serve as a volunteer nurse and client advocate with Susan Skoglund. Today Kay still faithfully serves at both the Moline and East Moline Centers!
In the early days, Kay helped launch ultrasound medical services at Pregnancy Resources and continues to this day to assist staff nurses and meet with clients. Kay has a heart for the Lord, a heart for women, and a heart for the pre-born. Kay loves to help moms choose life for their child. She also loves to share the gospel when the Spirit opens that door. She always has a smile, a kind word, and a willingness to serve. Kay truly inspires us all!
