It almost sounds like a joke, but only God does this kind of thing! Every day, through your support, you help moms and dads take one step closer to Christ. We often don’t get to see the fruit of the seeds we cast, but now and again, we get a glimpse of His Handiwork in the hearts of people.
My church has a monthly prayer meeting for the unreached people groups of the world, and we are often reminded that the “world” is coming to the United States. At our March prayer time, we were praying specifically for Muslims from Africa. The very next day, I had the opportunity to do a pregnancy test and ultrasound with Zara*, a Muslim patient from Africa. At one point, I asked her about her religion of Islam, and Zara stated she was currently celebrating Ramadan. After she explained her religion, Zara permitted me to tell her about Christianity. I explained that I follow Jesus Christ and that He, as the Son of God, loves her, her husband, and her family. After further consent, the Gospel was briefly explained to her, including the problem of sin in our lives, the reason for Jesus’ death, and His resurrection. I explained that Pregnancy Resources offers Bible studies if she was interested. The truly stunning part was at the end of the appointment, at the very moment that I was asking permission to pray to Jesus for her, a strange sound came from her purse. She smiled and told me it was her “Muslim call to prayer” app that alarms 5 times a day. At that very moment, Zara let me pray out loud to Jesus for her! Our God is amazing!

Martha* came for assistance for clothes for her children. Neither she nor her husband had a religious background. Both grew up with atheist beliefs and are currently raising their family with those same beliefs. Martha began to feel more comfortable with the Jesus followers that provided care and concern for her. Martha sat in the waiting room, and her heart was heavy. A person at the center asked, “How are you?” Martha needed a listening ear and compassion as she shared what was troubling her. Tears were shed, and at the end of the conversation, Martha said, “You know what I need…I need God.” She is one step closer to Christ today than she was yesterday.

Hard times can create clarity in a person’s life. Becca* came to Pregnancy Resources for a pregnancy test, options information, and seeking an ultrasound. Little did she know that while looking for information about her pregnancy, the Holy Spirit was drawing her back into a relationship with the Lord. During her conversation with her client advocate, Becca realized she had drifted away from God. He seemed distant in her complicated life. This pregnancy brought some massive changes to her life, but spurred her to want to “rebuild her life” with faith.
Becca was excited to learn about a Bible study at Pregnancy Resources. She developed a supportive relationship with one of the client advocates, which led her to a local Bible-teaching church. When Becca walked into church for the first time in many years, she felt that the message was exactly what she needed to hear. Finding community in a local church helped lighten her burden and gave her hope for the future. Becca continued attending services, and in the following months, her eldest child accepted Christ. Becca is still on her journey, seeking the Lord and growing in her relationship with Him, creating a lasting legacy of faith.
